Make OTDR test links easier to judge
The OTDR transmit cable box houses a specified length of fiber optic assembly in a portable hard-shell case, placed between the OTDR and the link under test, to help testers observe near-end connectors and link events.
During OTDR testing, the instrument's transmitted pulses affect the first connector closest to the instrument. By inserting a known length of transmitting fiber, the near-end connector can be distinguished from the OTDR's own transmitted pulses.
According to the test plan, the product can also be used as a receiving optical cable, connected to the end of the link under test, to help observe the insertion loss and reflection performance of the remote connector.
It is not an ordinary fiber optic storage box.
This is a measurement auxiliary component in the OTDR test link. The enclosure is responsible for protecting and organizing the optical fibers, while the fiber length, connectors, and polishing methods serve the specific test plan.

Organizing and protecting optical fibers for on-site testing
Used for OTDR transmitter or receiver
It can be configured as a Launch Cable or Receive Cable according to the test link for link loss and connector performance testing.
Fiber optics and connectors are configurable
Supports different fiber optic modes, lengths, input/output connectors, and PC, UPC, and APC polishing methods.
Hard-shell case is suitable for on-site transport.
The yellow hard-shell case, lock, handle, and portable hook facilitate transportation, storage, and on-site testing.
Internal optical fibers are coiled in an orderly manner
The optical fibers are housed along an internal coil structure and held in place by a fixing strap, reducing scattering during transportation and reuse.
Connector individual protection
The input and output connectors are placed separately, and you can see the connector protective sleeves or dust caps in the picture.
Service installation, maintenance and training
It is suitable for fiber optic link testing, installation and acceptance, on-site maintenance, technical training and some calibration testing scenarios.
Different configuration combinations
|
160 m · G657A1 single-mode sample
The specific sample from the product photos has labels that allow direct verification of length, fiber type, and end configuration. |
1000 m · Single-mode sample
Images are from the original product documentation; the label does not specify the exact fiber type, such as G.652.D or G.657.A. |
Capacity is confirmed according to the specific container type: two sets of samples show different lengths and end face combinations. The 2,000 m container capacity, 20,000 m upper limit parameter, and 4 km illustration labels in the document have not yet been established with model correspondences. When ordering, you need to confirm the actual loadable length of the selected container type.
Coiling, fixing, and end-face protection facilitate repeated use.
Maintain a clear fiber optic path inside the box.The photo shows a yellow hard-shell enclosure, a black lining, a white fiber coil structure, and black securing straps. The optical fiber is coiled along the internal structure, with connectors positioned separately and equipped with end protection. After testing, retract the cable along the original path to avoid it being caught in the cover or latches, and coil it according to the bending radius requirements of the actual component. The documentation does not specify a minimum bending radius; this should be confirmed based on the selected fiber optic cable structure. Check the enclosure functions according to the selected enclosure type. The document mentions a latch with a locking function, and an automatic pressure balancing valve to balance the pressure difference inside and outside the chamber when altitude and temperature change. Whether a specific chamber model includes this valve needs to be checked separately. The documentation describes waterproof and dustproof properties but does not list the IP rating or test results; when there are specific on-site protection requirements, the corresponding rating and applicable conditions should be confirmed. |

Common problems encountered during product selection
The transmitting optical cable provides a pre-fiber section so that the starting point of the measured link is located after the recovery zone of the initial strong reflection, when the length is appropriate. The instrument's own dead zone characteristics are still related to the pulse width and measurement conditions; the length should be selected according to the actual settings.
When the test plan requires evaluation of near-end and far-end connectors, auxiliary optical fibers can be configured before and after the link, respectively. The receiving optical cable provides analyzable curves after the far-end connector; the specific configuration is determined according to the test objectives.
Both are sample lengths shown in existing photos. When selecting, you should provide the OTDR model, pulse width or dead zone information, the type of fiber under test, and the test target to confirm the required recovery distance and then match it with the available cabinet type.
The original documentation included enclosure descriptions stating "maximum capacity 2,000 m", parameter ranges of "100–20,000 m", and enclosure photos labeled 4 km. Model correspondences for this information have not yet been established; the maximum length needs to be confirmed based on the actual enclosure type, fiber optic structure, and configuration.
The original text only provides typical values at 1000 nm and 1310 nm, without specifying whether it includes connectors at both ends, the measurement method used, or values for other wavelengths and lengths. Loss parameters, configuration, and test conditions should be agreed upon together during acceptance testing.
