Product Description

This SC Bare Fiber Adapter is a simple and efficient solution for connecting bare optical fiber to SC-based testing systems. How to Use

  1. Strip the coating from the optical fiber to expose the bare fiber.
  2. Clean the bare fiber carefully with lint-free wipes and alcohol.
  3. Cleave the fiber end face with a fiber cleaver.
  4. Loosen the metal knob on the bare fiber adapter.
  5. Insert the bare fiber gently into the clamping end.
  6. Tighten the metal knob to hold the fiber in place.
  7. Connect the SC/UPC end to the test device, SC adapter, or SC patch cord.
  8. Perform the required optical test.
  9. After testing, loosen the knob, remove the fiber, and cover the SC end with the dust cap.

 

Usage Notes

  • The cleave quality of the bare fiber directly affects insertion loss and test stability.
  • Always clean the bare fiber before inserting it into the adapter.
  • Do not bend, twist, or force the bare fiber during insertion.
